Deniyaya Esala Perahera next week

The Annual Esala Festival of the Getabaru Raja Maha Viharaya, Kotapola in Deniyaya will be held from September 10 to 16.

The festival begins with a special religious ceremony and the first Peli Perahera will be on September 10 evening.

The second and the third Peli Perahera parade streets on September 11 and 12.

The Randoli Perahera is scheduled to be held on September 13 and 14 night.

During the festival period, several thousands of devotees will flock to Getabaruwa Viharaya to participate in special religious ceremonies conducted by the Festival Celebration Committee.

Deva Thovilaya to bless the country and people begins on September 14 and concludes with the fire walking ceremony on September 16 morning.

The festival ends on September 16 noon with alms giving. The Annual Esala pandal displays from September 10 to 15.
