Lankan companies at Chengdu Fair

Sri Lanka will get prominence to promote international trade and
investments in China at the forthcoming Western China International
Economy and Trade Fair, which will be held from October 26 to 28 in
Chengdu in Sichuan Province.
Sri Lanka is participating in this event for the first time. Sri
Lanka -China Business Co-operation Council (SLBCC) has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding with the China Business Council to promote
international trade between two countries, SLBCC Secretary-General Nihal
Aluvihare said. He said this trade fair is open to all countries and
they are expecting Sri Lankan manufacturers and entrepreneurs to
participate at this event with the signing of the MoU by the two
Councils.
The SLBCC will organise a major investment forum during the event,
where it expects to participate with a high-powered Sri Lankan
delegation during the event, which could help to attract major Chinese
investors to Sri Lanka.
Aluvihare said the handloom and handicraft, black tea, coir products,
rubber and rubber based products, gem and jewellery related products are
expected to participate at this event.
“This event will also be able to promote trade and investments
individually as well as at bilateral level to attract trade and
investment”, Aluvihare said. |
