Hope for light dimmed for villagers

Electricity consumers in Periyakadunelawa in the Ibbagamuwa D.S. division have to undergo several hardships as they get only dim light as the voltage capacity in the transformer is not sufficient, villagers complain.

When they brought the matter to the notice of the authorities, construction of a more powerful transformer and electric posts for high tension lines was proposed.

Nearly an year has passed but no action has been taken so far, they said. "Electricity supplied at present is not powerful even to operate a television.

We kindly request the authorities to look into our plight and take action to complete the proposed project as early as possible," they said.
