LTTE logistics facility attacked

Air Force fighter jets and M-24 gun-ships carried out air sorties targeting the LTTE defence lines and logistic facilities yesterday morning in Thunukkai and Vishwamadu causing extensive damages to the terrorists.

Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said the SLAF fighter helicopters raided the LTTE defence lines in support of advancing ground troops of Task Force 1 towards north in Thunukkai and Killinochchi.

“The air attack conducted at 6.30 a.m. and the target was located 17km north west of Thunukkai and south of Wannerikulam tank,” he said.
