Michael, Jithme enter U-18 finals
Top seed Michael Siyaguna moved into the final of the boys under-18
singles in the Milo Junior Tennis National Championship being held at
the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts, Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha.
Siyaguna had a gruelling three set win over fourth seeded Guyanga
Weerasekara, after loosing the first match Michael made a stirring
comeback to take the rest two sets in a row to seal the victory in his
favour (5/7, 7/6, 6/4) in the semi finals. Siyaguna will meet Amresh
Jayawickrame in the final.
In the girls’ under 18 semi finals Jithmie Jayawickrema overcame
Nilupul Gunasekera smoothly in straight sets 6/1, 6/1 while Sherene
Wijesinghe
defeated Druvinka Moraes 6/2, 6/4 to meet Jayawickrame in the girls
under 18 final.
