President’s direct intervention solved our problems - Vanniyala Attho

President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s direct intervention to solve our problems helped us hold the annual bees-honey pooja to the Sacred Tooth Relic in a big way, said aadivaasi chief Uruwarige Vanniyala Attho.

The Pooja was held at the Sri Dalada Maligawa yesterday (12). A large crowd of aadivaasi headed by their chief Vanniyala Attho was present.

Vanniyala Attho said several problems were experienced last year in the conduct of the traditional ritual but it was President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s direct intervention that cleared all obstacles.

“We hope the bureaucracy will help us to perform our rituals without let or hindrance,” the Vanniyala Attho expressed his confidence.

Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara donated clothing to 47 members of the aadivaasi community.
