Eleven hour power interruption

The Ceylon Electricity Board yesterday announced that there will be a 11 hour power cut in the Gampaha and Katunayaka areas including the Katunayaka Free Trade Zone on August 5, Tuesday to facilitate the connection of power line from the Keravalapitiya thermal power plant to be commissioned soon to the National Grid.

Accordingly the following areas will experience a power cut on Tuesday from 7 am to 6 pm. The affected areas are the Katunayake Free Trade Zone, Katunayake, Katana, Ja-ela, Seeduwa, Minuwangoda, Divulapitiya, Gampaha, Yakkala, Naiwala, Veyangoda, Pasyala, Nittambuwa, Thihariya, Kalagedihena and Vathupitivala.
