G.C.E A/L from Wednesday

G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination 2008 is scheduled to be held from August 6 to September 3 at 1,818 Examination centres islandwide, Examinations Department sources told the Daily News.

This year, 293,819 candidates will sit for the examination. Out of 293,819 candidates 199,062 are school applicants while the rest (94,757) are private applicants.

The Examination will be monitored through 281 coordinating centres. As a result of the forthcoming Provincial Council Election of Sabaragamuwa and North Central Provinces, there will be two stages of the examination. Since the election has been scheduled for Saturday August 23, the examination will not be held from August 22 to 24.
