'Milk Cricket' to be introduced in Kandy

A new concept in junior cricket coaching named 'Milk Cricket' will be introduced soon in Nittawela, Kandy by a reputed coach Lionel B. Gunatileka for boys between the ages of 5 and 7 years with a view of spotting young latent talent for the future of Sri Lanka cricket.

Plastic bats, wickets and balls etc. will be utilised for this purpose with video clippings to further enhance the youngsters and create more interest and learn the rudiments of the game.

Lionel B. Gunatileka, an Agricultural Engineer and a public speaker, is a level three coach of the England and Wales Cricket Board. Gunatileka left for England in 1962 and has been coaching since, and his knowledge of the game which he has gained will no doubt help the youngsters.

This concept will be in two categories, mainly primary cricket and youth cricket. The classes will be conducted at a very nominal rate and those who are interested could contact on 2779261.
