Industrial display stalls for crafts village
Forty Industrial and display stalls are to be installed at Janakala
Kendraya crafts village to be jointly set up by the Ministry of Rural
Industries and Self Employment Promotion and Ministry of Tourism.
Ministry of Tourism contributes Rs. 4.3 million and Ministry of Rural
Industries contributes Rs. 2.4 million for this project estimated to be
cost over Rs. 6.7 million.
Director of Janakala Kendraya D. Dharmasiri said that Delhi Hearty
Marketing outlet of India has come forward to market products of these
centres. Craftsmen engaged in this field islandwide, will have the
opportunity to market their products. Dharmasiri further said that one
craftsman will be facilitated for a period of one month to market his
products at this centre.
The Ministry anticipates completion of the construction of the
artetheatre by next month, at the cost of Rs. 70 million. This
artetheatre will be opened for local and foreign tourists, enabling the
craftsmen to market their products in a lucrative manner. |
