User identification cards from Hutch
In the best interest of the safety of mobile users and in keeping
with the directive given by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission
of Sri Lanka, Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka (Pvt) Limited (HTLL)
announce last week that arrangements are being made to issue subscriber
identification cards with immediate effect.
This action is keeping in line with the recent national security
requirements put forward by the government and to be implemented by all
operators.
HTLL will provide an opportunity for all its subscribers to register
and update their relevant personal information in order to issue
certificates of ownership.
This document will serve as identification until the company mails
out a permanent plastic card to all its subscribers.
The company intends on using its widespread retail distributor
network in reaching its subscribers.
Any outlet that sells "top up" and "reload" for Hutch will carry
registration forms where current Hutch users could update their personal
information and obtain a temporary "proof of ownership" document.
Users are advised to keep this document safely and carry it at all
times in order to furnish at security check points etc. until they
receive the plastic card from the Company.
Users are also required to submit a copy of their National Identity
Card together with a recent passport size photograph if the photograph
on their NIC is unrecognisable.
The company emphasized the importance of all users to register their
respective current addresses in order for the company to mail the
permanent card to them. In the case of minors using Hutch connections,
the company requests the parents/guardians to fill in their details. |
