Lakshman de Alwis Foundation formed

The Lakshman de Alwis Memorial Foundation launched in memory of late Lakshman de Alwis National Athletic coach who died last April in a bomb blast at Weliweriya.

The launching ceremony which was held at Sugathadasa Sports Hotel was attended by his family members and a distinguished gathering of many associated closely with de Alwis.

De Alwis who sacrificed most of his life to athletics in Sri Lanka also helped many underprivileged sportsmen, women to reach great heights in the sports arena.

Dissanayake, Dunstan Athula, Ranjith Alwis, Wimal Gamini Rodrigo, Senaka Angulugahage.
