32 seek Forces' protection in Pesalai

Thirty two civilians fleeing from the LTTE grip in Nachchikuda, Mullaitivu, sought Security Forces' protection at the Navy outpost in Pesalai on Thursday evening, the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said.

A MCNS spokesman said 32 civilians comprising 19 women and 13 men had reached the cleared area at the Pesalai Navy outpost around 5.30 p.m. seeking protection under the Security Forces. "Thirty two civilians reached the Navy outpost in a boat from the uncleared area in Nachchikuda following LTTE harassment and intimidation," he added. He said the 32 were provided with essential needs and shelter.
