Ambepitiya in final
Shehan Ambepitiya became the first Sri Lankan Junior athlete to enter
the World Junior World Athletics Championships in Poland yesterday and
also became the third Sri Lankan to enter a world athletics championship
final.
Shehan, with a time of 10.52 seconds, was placed fourth in the
semi-final of the 100m.
The student from Gateway College who won the gold medals for 100m and
200m at the Last South Asian Junior Championships in Colombo is coached
by Sunil Gunawardena. BP
