Emergency passed

The motion moved by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka to extend the Emergency regulations by another one month was passed with a majority of 97 votes in Parliament yesterday.

The TNA asked for a division and voted against. The JVP and the National Freedom Front MPs voted in favour.

The UNP abstained from voting.
