Seylan bank ties up with MasterCard worldwide

Seylan Bank has announced a tie-up with MasterCard Worldwide to offer payment solutions to valued customers and merchants. Seylan Bank will issue Credit and Debit Cards through MasterCard to its customers and also grant card accepting machines to merchants.


Mugizhnan Sambandhamoorthy hands over the MasterCard Licence to Chairperson Seylan Bank, Dr. Sicille Kotelawala. Senior Deputy General Manager, Seylan Card Centre Tissa Nanayakkara looks on.

“Seylan Bank is proud to be partners with MasterCard Worldwide to offer our customers another card type which is recognised globally. We also intend to acquire MasterCard using our 114 ATM network island-wide,” Senior Deputy General Manager, Seylan Card Centre, Tissa Nanayakkara said.

Through Ceylinco Fast Cash, the Bank enhances its international product and service portfolio, reaching out to large numbers of expatriate workers in over 16 countries. Seylan also manages Asia Express Exchange in Oman.

MasterCard Worldwide, which has been in existence for over 40 years, is one of the largest payment networks in the world.

With over 25 million merchant outlets and over one million master card enabled ATMs, As a franchiser, processor and advisor, MasterCard develops and markets payment solutions, processes over 18 billion transactions each year and provides industry-leading analysis and consulting services to financial institutions, customers and merchants.
