No injury to MIG pilot

Air Force Media Spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara has confirmed that no injury had been caused to the Pilot of a MIG 27 Fighter aircraft which had suffered minor damage when it had landed at the Air Force base at Katunayake yesterday.

After a successful attack in the North, the Fighter Aircraft had reached the Katunayake base around 6 p.m. when it had slipped out of the 'Runway' on its landing due to a mechanical fault in one of its wheels.

Full investigations into the matter has begun, Wing Commander Nanayakkara further said.
