Govt has finger on pulse of people, need to alleviate consumer -

Dissanayake said when there is a conflict in any country prices of goods
usually increase. It is not reasonable to blame the Government.
Blackmarketeers always try to put innocent customers in danger. Our
intention is to save the customers from this situation. He was
addressing a public meeting after presenting coconut seedlings to the
farmers of Narammala recently.
The Minister said that as a Government which has a finger on the
pulse of the people and knew their aspirations they fully understood the
need to alleviate the consumers burden.
He said the Government will spend hundred million for the development
of infrastructure facilities such as roads, water, electricity,
telephone etc. in the industrial estate and has planned to complete all
infrastructure facilities before 2008.
The Minister said the usual practice of providing jobs concentrated
in the city of Colombo has now changed to the villages with the
implementation of the Gama Naguma project.
