Male Construction Fair today

‘Maldives Construction Fair 2008’ will commence today and will continue till July 9 at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall in Male with the participation of large number of Sri Lankan companies.

‘Maldives Construction Fair 2008’ rolls out for the third successive year keeping in line with international fairs worldwide. The Maldives Construction Fair will showcase innovative trends in interior design, architecture, building construction, engineering and related products and services.

There will be 100 stalls for this year’s fair and 50 per cent of the stalls are expected to be picked up by the local construction companies.

Maldives is a growing market for local construction companies. Construction, which is presently the fastest growing and third largest sector in the Maldives will receive the perfect prop through the ‘Maldives Construction Fair 2008’.

As per the Ministry of Planning and National Development the tourism industry has recovered from the tsunami and by year 2020, the Maldives would not only have a thriving and differentiated tourism trade with holiday, education and business travellers, but also would be expanding its operations to hundreds of untapped islands.

President of Maldives Association of Construction Industry Mohammad Ali Janah said this year they have brought together some of the leading names of the industry as well as the innovators, the movers and shakers behind the booming Maldivian construction industry.
