Male Construction Fair today
‘Maldives Construction Fair 2008’ will commence today and will
continue till July 9 at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall in Male with
the participation of large number of Sri Lankan companies.
‘Maldives Construction Fair 2008’ rolls out for the third successive
year keeping in line with international fairs worldwide. The Maldives
Construction Fair will showcase innovative trends in interior design,
architecture, building construction, engineering and related products
There will be 100 stalls for this year’s fair and 50 per cent of the
stalls are expected to be picked up by the local construction companies.
Maldives is a growing market for local construction companies.
Construction, which is presently the fastest growing and third largest
sector in the Maldives will receive the perfect prop through the
‘Maldives Construction Fair 2008’.
As per the Ministry of Planning and National Development the tourism
industry has recovered from the tsunami and by year 2020, the Maldives
would not only have a thriving and differentiated tourism trade with
holiday, education and business travellers, but also would be expanding
its operations to hundreds of untapped islands.

Ali Janah said this year they have brought together some of the leading
names of the industry as well as the innovators, the movers and shakers
behind the booming Maldivian construction industry.
