Death of journalist Wimalasena Ihalagama
The funeral of senior journalist Wimalasena Ihalagama will be held at
the Ihalagama crematorium, Ragama today.
A renowned author , Wimalasena Ihalagama first joined the Dawasa
editorial as a journalist and later entered the Divaina editorial.There
he held several posts and contributed many features and political
articles. Among his books Weerapuran Appu, Poda Karaliya, Wellasse
Ginippura take pride of place. He is survived by four children

Kaisen Centre at Kelaniya University
A Kaisen Centre will be opened on July 1 at 9.30 a.m. at the Social
Sciences Faculty of the Kelaniya University to mark its 50th
anniversary. Prof. M.J.S. Wijayaratne, Vice-Chancellor, Kelaniya
University and Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara, Dean, Faculty of Social
Sciences will be present. The word 'Kaisen' denotes uninterrupted
development.
Meanwhile, new students to the Medical Faculty of the Kelaniya
University will be admitted on June 30, at the Ragama, Colombo North
Medical Faculty, under the patronage of Prof. M. J. S. Wijayaratne
Vice-Chancellor and Prof. A. R. Wickremasinghe, Dean, Faculty of
Medicine.

Book launch
The Association of Professional Bankers - Sri Lanka will launch the
publication titled 'Customary Banking Practices on Customer Account
Operations Based on Selected Case Law' by Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria,
today, June 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Conference Hall, Level 22,
HNB Towers, No. 479, T.B. Jayah Mawatha, Colombo 10.
The presentation will be made by Justice Saleem Marsoof, PC Judge of
the Supreme Court on 'The Business of Banking and the Judicial
