and has completed 26 years of very meaningful activities. During this
period they have celebrated the Chinese National Day every year and have
appropriately celebrated the completion of 30 years, 40 years and 50
years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and China.
As many as ten friendship delegations of the members of the Society
have been set to China on the invitation of the Chineses People’s
Association with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). Several delegations from
China were hosted by this Society. Six Chinese film festivals and
several photography exhibitions were organised during this period.
Among the main items of the agenda will be the release of a booklet
entitled ‘Note on Travel - No. 10’, the release of the members’
directory and the release of a silver jubilee sticker.
The Sri Lanka China Society has decided to honour a member of the
Chinese Embassy who has closely worked with the Association and
contributed much to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two
countries.
The sixth Chinese Film Festival organised by the Sri Lanka China
Society will run on June 26,27 and 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the BMICH
Cinema Hall. All are welcome.
