Unilevers Lifebuoy and BASS MP3s campaign a success

Over the past decade Lifebuoy, Unilevers hygienic health brand, has proven to been right on the pulse of the youth of Sri Lanka, engineering innovative campaigns and CSR activities, identifying and evolving with the fast changing requirements of modern day living.

Unlike general promotional activities in the market, our message is actually straight from our social conscience, an honest attempt to promote a better, cleaner lifestyle for Sri Lankas youth by instilling healthy living habits and whilst having fun at the same time, Senior Brand Manager for Lifebuoy Asif Jiffry said.

We want our consumers to trust us to represent their best interests all of the time, thus our promotions have always been complimentary to their individual passions, embracing their own lifestyle choices with our product promotions and branding initiatives, Jiffry further stated.

This philosophy is clearly reflected in Lifebuoys latest in a long line of marketing campaigns, distributing 500 Bathiya and Santhush (BNS) branded BASS mp3 players islandwide to some of their most loyal consumers.

Around the world MP3 players are fast becoming more than a bourgeois luxury, but rather a highly fashionable accessory. We chose BASS MP3 as it represented the best of world class technology, shelled together with a stunning metallic finish, whilst being backed by two of the biggest legends the Sri Lankan recording industry has ever produced, a spokesman from Unilivers said.

Just as emphasised by the Lifebuoy brand; BASS MP3 represents the finest qualities of the youth of Sri Lanka, being dynamic, refreshing, quality focused and responsible.

The complimentary association of Lifebuoy to Bass MP3 and the youthful energies of BNS, would no doubt commit the brand to the top of any young consumers mind, making cleanliness cool! Even our commercials revolve around this concept, for instance equating a teenager washing his hands to a DJ on the turntables, he said.

He also mentioned that for the duration of the campaign, BASS mp3 players were available to the public only via the Lifebuoy competition and that this was just the first of many promotions planned by the brand to reward their loyal consumer base over the coming months.
