Tiger logistics facility destroyed

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets destroyed a key LTTE combat-logistics facility located at Pudukudiyirippu in the Mullaitivu district yesterday morning, Defence sources said.

The Media Centre for National Security said that after accurate intelligence gathering SLAF fighter jets had successfully engaged the target around 10 a.m yesterday.

It is believed that the facility was used by Tigers to maintain and service LTTE’s combat vehicles in addition to being a large fuel dump.

Defence sources citing fighter pilots said that large explosions were heard and the facility was seen engulfed in fire in the aftermath of the attacks.
