Pandemonium at BIA over corpse

KATUNAYAKE: Pandemonium reigned at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday morning when a man in a wheelchair died at a passenger check-in counter.

According to Katunayake police a Sri Lankan was taking his father for medical treatment to India when the latter passed away. The patient died during check-in before boarding the flight, according to sources. The situation led to chaos inside the airport as passengers were made to believe that an attempt was made to smuggle a corpse in the guise as a patient.
