Civilians flee LTTE terror

Seven civilians including two women sought shelter on Sunday afternoon with Navy and police personnel jointly manning the fishing marshal point in Pallimunai, the Media Centre for National Security said.

According to a spokesman from the MCNS, six civilians who fled Vedithaltivu had reached Pallimunai on Sunday at around 2.30 p.m.

"The civilians who fled from the atrocities of the LTTE disclosed that they escaped due to unprecedented hardship and forced LTTE recruitment," he added.
