Enjoy 5 per cent saving on electricity bills with American Express

American Express, the credit card acquired and issued in Sri Lanka solely by Nations Trust Bank announced the launch of a new benefit which will offer all American Express Cardmembers a 5 per cent saving on their monthly electricity bill.

This is available for all Cardmembers who register three or more bill payments on the Automatic Bill Settlement Programme, thereby benefiting from a 5 per cent reduction from their first months electricity charges. American Express will offer this saving on all electricity bills registered before end of June.

Currently American Express is the only credit card facilitated for bill payments at both Ceylon Electricity Board and LECO and is also the only card accepted at the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

This gives American Express Cardmembers a unique convenience in terms of settling their utility bills.

DGM Consumer Banking at Nations Trust Bank Renuka Fernando commenting on the benefit said, "We believe in offering value additions that are unique, specific and meet with the needs of today and we are confident that this facility will be of great value to our Cardmembers."

Automatic Bill Settlement is a convenient and hassle free solution to arrange the monthly payment of bills and subscriptions, which will be facilitated and paid through the American Express Credit Card.

This ensures that monthly payments are made on time thereby effectively avoiding the hassle of filling in forms, standing in queues and taking time off to attend to these payments every month.

Automatic Bill Settlement is available for a host of solutions such as utility bill payments from Ceylon Electricity Board and Lanka Electric Company, Water Supply and Drainage Board, telephone bill payments from Dialog, Mobitel and SLT and Lanka Bell, Suntel, TIGO, Cable TV payments from Dialog TV and LBN, Insurance payments from Ceylinco, Asian Alliance, Sri Lanka Insurance, Union Assuarance and Janashakthi, Internet connection payments from Eureka as well as subscriptions to clubs such as the Royal Colombo Golf Club and the Colombo Swimming Club.
