SLT empowers e-Channelling

e-Channelling Limited has entered into an agreement with SLT for a total data communication solution and co-location services as their preferred telecommunication provider.

The solution comprises of multiple products such as Internet Protocol (IP) based network services and broadband internet. The IP/VPN solution, which connects E-Channelling branches, main hospitals, Banks, Pharmacies and Communication Centers to its Head Office, is capable of carrying voice and mission critical data securely and reliably.

It is one of the main services SLT provides on the IP/MPLS backbone, which is the islandwide broadband network for corporate customers. The servers that are located at e-Channelling Limited will now be co-located at SLT iDC, the first data centre in Sri Lanka conforming to BS 7799 / ISO 27001 security certification.

Speaking on the significance of the agreement Chairman of e-Channelling Ltd. Suresh Bartlett said, "This strategic partnership with SLT to cater to our data communication requirements is another important milestone for e-Channelling. It will facilitate a more effective service to all our clients along with higher throughput and fail safe arrangements to ensure continuous uninterrupted service.

This will also readily complement our expansions plans of taking e-Channelling to all major towns and cities in the near future. This initiative will open up the avenues to enable the nation's population to access healthcare services in a convenient and cost effective manner from anywhere, at anytime."

Also commenting Chairperson of SLT Leisha De Silva Chandrasena, said, "SLT has always facilitated its valuable business partners by providing state-of-the-art communication solutions. It will be one of the key factors of our customer's point of view to strive to develop new features that enhance the value and services to their customer. I believe that this new alliance will provide E-Channelling users with the benefits of convenience, low cost and timeliness; elements which are of value in this hectic day and age."

The investment in the new solution of IP/VPN and data hosting service would allow all of the e-Channelling centers as well as the Head Office to have access to a centralized online information system.

The databases, which are a part of the system, will enable them to communicate with each other at any given time as well as facilitate an online operation. The planned network can carry IP traffic such as voice, mission critical and standard class data, which will facilitate e-Channelling with seamless connectivity.

This enables e-Channelling to manage their corporate network with their business partners. By connecting their Head Office with most of the leading hospitals islandwide, channelling centers, Bank branches and pharmacies, amounting to a total of over 1,000 channelling points working at optimum levels of efficiency. This solution also comprises direct fiber connectivity at the last mile.
