Anura Central paddlers win three titles on the first day

Anura Central College, Yakkala dominated the first day of the Under 16 Boys All Island Table Tennis Championship by emerging champions in three divisions which is now in progress at the S. Thomas’ College, Indoor Stadium, Mount Lavinia.

In the division `E’ final they beat Nalanda College (B), in the `F’ division final Anura CC (B) beat Sri Sumangala College, Panadura (A), in the G division Anura CC (C) beat De Mazenod College, Kandana (B) to become champions. St. Peter’s College, Colombo beat St. Peter’s College, Udagama to take the H division title.

The girls under 10 and 16 tournament will be start today. This event is being conducted by the Schools Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka will see its conclusion tomorrow.

TT trials on May 25

The selection trials to pick members for the Table Tennis Championship for Commonwealth Youth Games which will be held in Pune, India from October 12 to 18, 2008 will be conducted on May 25 at the S. Thomas’ College, Indoor Stadium, Mount Lavinia.

According to current Sri Lanka junior rankings (under 18), the following players have been already selected to play for the trials.

The players: Sukhitha Wickramanayake, Dharmaraja College, Sahanaka Ganegoda, Royal College, Buddhika Walagampola, Royal College, Sajith Kavinda Liyanage, St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena.
