Case filed against ex-accountant

Four cases were filed against a former accountant of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board for misusing Rs. 31.7 million of the Board.

The Attorney General filed the case before the Colombo High Court against Mambulage Ananda alias Ananda Mambula, 52, a former accountant of the Colombo North Water Board of Dippitigoda, Kelaniya for misusing Rs. 31,743,254 between January 31, 2003 to December 31, 2006.

According to cases filed he had misused Rs 7.7 million between January 31 to December 31 in 2003, Rs. 11.5 million between January 31 to December 31 in 2004, Rs. 12.3 million between January 31 to December 31 in 2005 and Rs. 124,200 between January 31 to December 31, 2006.
