Ampara schools to be upgraded

The Education Ministry has decided to upgrade five schools in the Ampara district as National Schools.

This is in response to a request made by Plan Implementation Minister P. Dayaratne to Education Minister Susil Premajayantha, an Eduction Ministry release said.

The schools to be upgraded are Padiyatalawa MV, Keppetipola MV, Uhana MV, Ampara Bandaranaike Balika Vidyalaya and Damana MV.

This would immensely benefit Sinhala and Tamil medium students in Digamadulla and Ampara, the release said.
