Eastern Province primed for PC Poll

Elections and security authorities said yesterday that all arrangements were in place for a free and fair poll in the East, which would take place at 1,022 centres in Trincomalee, Ampara and Batticaloa districts tomorrow.

Four Tiger suspects charged in UK

British police have charged four men with conspiring to support the Tigers, Scotland Yard said yesterday. The four were arrested under anti-terror laws and are accused of owning computers, radio equipment and high-power magnets for terrorist purposes, AFP reported from London.

Association blames Tourist Board of neglecting small timers:

Although tourist hotels in the Hambantota district have been refurbished and are fully operational after the tsunami, hoteliers lament that tourism authorities have not taken action to market the region.
