Minister Wijeratne at business forum

Enterprise Development Minister Mano Wijeratne has left for India to participate in the "International Business Interaction cum Sourcing Meet "which will be held in New Delhi,India from April 23, 26.

He has been invited by the Confederation of Indian Industry and Centre for International Trade and Technology (CITT) and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) .

The above International Business Interaction Meet is supported by the Indian Government through the Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) department and the Science and Technology Ministry.

This meeting constitutes a four day programme focused on the working of the Indian Small and Medium - Scale Enterprises; (SMEs). The organisers said the programme will explore ways and means of bridging the gap between the potential overseas and global buyers and Indian SMEs.

Minister Wijeyeratne, as the chief guest in the event will highlight the role played by the SME sector in Sri Lanka. He will also emphasise the need to develop the SMEs to compete in the global markets by quality improvement and the use of advanced technology.

Sri Lankan delegation would also focus on the importance of improving and harnessing collaborative opportunities between SMEs.
