Thushara (4/19) guides Ceylinco

Paceman Thilina Thushara snapped up four wickets for 19 runs to help Ceylinco Group beat East West Marketing Limited by 119 runs in their Singer MCA Premier limited overs knock out tournament quarterfinal match worked off at Thurstan College grounds yesterday.

Meanwhile Janashakthi made it to the semifinals by virtue of holding the higher position in the league tournament after their quarterfinal fixture against Unichela was washed out due to overnight rain at Reid Avenue. The semifinals will be worked off on Tuesday with Sampath Bank taking on Seylan Bank at Reid Avenue and Janashakthi Group meeting Ceylinco at Thurstan grounds.

Ceylinco: 274 for 7 in 43 overs (Marvan Atapattu 57, Sanjeewa Weerasinghe 25, Indika de Saram 52, Upul Chandana 88, Amila Prasad 2 for 45, Ruchira Perera 2 for 54, Sajith Fernando 2 for 55)

East West Marketing: 155 in 30.5 overs (Nilakshan Abeyratne 40, T. M. Sampath 45, Jeewantha Kulathunga 42, Thilina Thushara 4 for 19, Sachitra Senanayake 2 for 14)
