Search op following Talgahawewa blast

Two Civil Security guards injured:

ANURADHAPURA: A STF-Police joint search operation was underway in Talgahawewa along the Kebithigollewa-Yakawewa main road following yesterday’s bomb blast at Talgahawewa close to Vavuniya-Padaviya defence line.

Two civil security guards on a motor bicycle after duty at the Talgahawewa defence line were injured in the blast of the side charger around 7.45 a.m. yesterday.

The two injured personnel were admitted to the Kebithigollawa Hospital. They were later transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further medical treatment. Kebithigollewa police said the two are residents of Thalgahawewa.

Last week, in the same locality a civil security guard sustained serious injuries on his legs when he stepped on a pressure mine hidden along the road side of Kebithigollewa Yakawewa.
