Suntel brings Cardless Reload through Cargills

Suntel, which recently tied up with Cargills Food City to provide Suntel customers the convenience of paying their bills and purchasing Chat cards at any Cargills Food City, has extended its reach through a card-less reload system for Chat prepaid customers.

This partnership sealed in 2007 with both brands sharing a customer centric focus, has proven a commendable venture with increasing demand for services at convenience.

The Suntel card-less reload system will be active from the 1st of April 2008 and will enable customers to reload their Suntel pre-paid phones with denominations ranging from Rs. 100/- to Rs. 2000/-.

Once a customer pays for a reload at a Cargills outlet, the requested credit will be loaded to that particular Suntel phone within a matter of minutes. Subsequently an SMS would be generated to inform the user of the reload.

The concept behind this strategic tie up between the two corporate trendsetters was to bring the idea of 'On Your Way Home', popularised by Sri Lanka's largest retail channel - Cargills Food City, to the products and services marketed by Sri Lanka's leading communications service provider - Suntel.

As a result of this partnership starting November 2007, Suntel customers have been able to visit Cargills outlets islandwide to settle their Suntel phone bills as well as purchase Chat prepaid cards.

Suntel is a joint venture company that brings together the resources and expertise of Swedish telecom giant Overseas Telecom AB, Metrocorp Townsend Limited of Hong Kong, the National Development Bank, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) - a member of the World Bank Group.

The combination of technical and operational expertise evident in Suntel, supported by a sound financial base, has helped create a company, which is committed to being Sri Lanka's preferred telecommunication service provider, through service excellence and cost-effective delivery.
