Minister Fernandopulle fought against evils of terrorism - Prime Minister

Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle's name will go into Sri Lanka's history as a national hero, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka said participating at the Minister's funeral yesterday which was held under full State honour.

First terror attack on sporting event since Munich deplored

The terrorists have become brutal enough to attack a sports event like a Marathon. The last such attack was in 1972 in Munich and according to accepted principles even terrorists do not attack sport events, Media and Information Minister Anura Priyadharsahana Yapa said.

Govt will defeat terrorism - Healthcare Minister

"The war against terror launched by the Government will not be halted even if the LTTE launches more cowardly terrorist attacks. The Government will defeat terrorism and establish a terror free country which was the sole dream of thousands of innocent people murdered by the LTTE", Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said.
