China will stand by Sri Lanka against terrorism

President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China assured President Mahinda Rajapaksa that China will stand by Sri Lanka in its efforts to counter terrorism. This assurance was given when the two Presidents met at Yalong Bay Resort in the Hainan Province of China yesterday.

First terror attack on sporting event since Munich deplored

The terrorists have become brutal enough to attack a sports event like a Marathon. The last such attack was in 1972 in Munich and according to accepted principles even terrorists do not attack sport events, Media and Information Minister Anura Priyadharsahana Yapa said.

Errant condominium developers on the mat

The Condominium Management Authority (CMA) will file court action against several property developers who are unable to give deeds to their condominium residents. Acting General Manager of CMA G.U. Upawansa told Daily News that according to the Apartment Ownership Law, after completing the condominium project with the condominium certification developers need to register the project in the Land Registry to provide deeds for residents.
