Kavinda will lead Havelocks this year

Former Trinity, Kandy SC and Sri Lanka lock forward Kavinda Jayasena
will lead Havelocks Sports Club in the Caltex 'A' Division League Rugby
Tournament which begins in the first week of May.
Jayasena turned out for Havelocks from 2000 to 2002 before crossing
over to Kandy SC in 2003 and played for the hill capital club in 2003
and 2004 before rejoining the Park Club in 2006. He also donned the Sri
Lanka Jersey in the Rugby Asiad in Bangkok in 2002.
Four members of the Sri Lanka Youth team - Wesleyite Andrew Jegan,
Dharmaraja's A. N. Hettiarachchi and Peterites Thilina Bulnes and Irfath
Meedin too have joined the Park Club along with the skipper of the
invincible Peterite rugby team of last year - Ranuka Jayasinghe.
Havelocks will also have the services of former Sri Lanka flanker
Ravi Jayasuriya, ex-Sri Lanka No. 8 Rajiv Ganapathy, former national
player Ruwan Suranga, Sri Lanka 'Sevens' player Wasim Thajudeen and
scrum half Dilan de Zoysa (who donned the Sri Lanka Jersey against
Kazakhastan.
The Park Club finished fourth in the 'A' Division League and were
knocked out in the semi-finals of the Clifford Cup and President's
Trophy Tournament last year but are determined to give a much better
display this year and regain their past glory. |
