Three female Sea Tiger leaders killed

Navy intelligence has confirmed that three senior level female Sea
Tiger cadres were among the 10 Tiger cadres killed in the air attack on
the inland Sea Tiger Base west of Kilinochchi on Friday, Navy sources
told the Daily News yesterday.
According to the Naval intelligence the three senior level female Sea
Tiger leaders killed in the air raid have been identified as self-styled
‘Lt. Colonel’ Kalai Arasi, ‘Major’ Thuvarika and ‘Lieutenant’
Senthamanee.
Nine others have also been injured in this air strike.
The self styled ‘Lt. Colonel’ Kalai Arasi has been identified as the
Chief Female Sea Tiger instructor of the LTTE and the she was in charge
of the ‘Surali’ armed LTTE craft.
The armed craft which has been fitted with two 200 HP engines has
also been destroyed in the air strike. The Sea Tiger used to transport
their boats to inland bases after loading them in tractors and the
‘Surali’ has been destroyed as it had been taken to this inland Sea
Tiger base.
According to Navy intelligence the LTTE has used this inland base to
train their female Sea Tiger cadres. Navy sources said that the LTTE has
declared a two kilometres stretch surrounding this inland Sea Tiger base
a ‘high security zone’ and sealed off the area without allowing civilian
access.
