Army Commander evaluates developments on Wanni fronts

As advancing troops inflict more damages to the LTTE on the Vavuniya and Mannar fronts, the Commander of the Army Lt. General Sarath Fonseka visited the Wanni area to give further instructions on future security arrangements in those areas on Saturday morning.

Commander Security forces Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ-W) Major General Jagath Jayasuriya received the visiting Commander accompanied by a few Senior Officers from the Army Headquarters.

The Army Commander was later guided to the SFHQ - Wanni auditorium where he met a gathering of Senior Ground Commanders who briefed him on the security situation in their respective areas.

Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka, before leaving for Colombo, issued further instructions on the future security measures in the Wanni, states an Army Headquarters press release.
