Thirty students injured in clash
Thirty one students of the Kelaniya University were admitted to the
Kiribathgoda Hospital on Saturday evening after a clash between two
student groups at the University premises.
Police spokesman DIG M.K. Illangakoon said most of students sustained
minor injuries and no student was arrested in this connection. Meanwhile
Kiribathgoda Hospital sources said all students had left the hospital
after receiving treatment.
Facelift for Karathivu village

Karativu known as an educated village in the Amparai District, is to
get a facelift in the near future.
The newly formed dynamic Pradeshiya Sabha made necessary arrangments
to develop the Village with a help of Government and NGOs.
A library project costing Rs. 29.492 million has been launched by the
Karativu Pradeshiya Sabha in collaborations with USAID.
USAID allocated this amount in three phases. Constructing the library
cost Rs. 20.2 million, furniture cost, Rs. 6.7 million and initial
project costs Rs. 2.4 million.
The new library will be opened on February 13 at 9.30 am.
