73 injured in bus mishap

Seventy three persons were injured and admitted to the Teldeniya district hospital when a CTB bus from Rangala to Teldeniya ran of the road and hurtled down a 30 feet precipice at Udawela around 8 a.m. yesterday.

Ten of the injured were later transferred to the Kandy General Hospital as they were in a critical condition.

The bus had gone out of control while the driver was negotiating a bend.

Police said among the injured were two students who were on their way to school. Teldeniya police are investigating.
