Panadura UC dissolved

The UNP controlled Panadura Urban Council has been dissolved by Western Province Chief Minister Reginald Cooray issuing a special gazette notification last night.

This was sequel to an inquiry held into the maladministration of the Panadura Urban Council. The Council and the Chairman was found guilty of the charges.

An Armed police party was stationed at the Panadura Urban Council premises. Panadura Divisional Secretary Pradeep Ratnayake came to the Panadura Urban Council and took over the administration and sought the assistance of the staff to carry out the administration of the Council.
