A death certificate to long dead corpse

JHU on CFA abolition:

The Jathika Hela Urumaya said yesterday that the Government had finally issued the death certificate to what had long been a corpse in reference to its decision to terminate the so-called Ceasefire Agreement.

The JHU said that the Ceasefire Agreement was against the Constitution although then Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe signed it with Velupillai Prabhakaran under Norway's facilitation. It was a treacherous document that was singed against the will of the countrymen.

Jathika Hela Urumaya launched a legal battle against this treacherous document from the time of its inception. It also campaigned against it with the people." We believe the Ceasefire was dumped into where it belonged as a result of our many efforts", the JHU spokesman said.

At the time the government has announced its decision to terminate the Ceasefire Agreement, the terrorists have violated it 6672 times without any action being taken against them by Norway or any other power.

The decision will lead to the silencing of Tiger agents and external elements that support the terrorists.

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna has said that it was pleased that the Cabinet had taken a decision to terminate the Ceasefire Agreement.

This, though late, is to be welcomed since the CFA had demarcated territory for the LTTE through imagined boundaries paving the way for the creation of a separate State.

"We informed the public of this sinister move even before the Agreement had been signed between the then Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prabhakaran in 2002",the spokesman said.

"Since the time of this Agreement, we could only experience setbacks." he said. This agreement led to some politicians speaking in a way that belittled the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity before external forces. The decision proves there is nothing a patriotic nation can achieve if they act unitedly.

"We request the people to gather round to achieve more victories for the motherland", he added.
