Ambassador designate to Sweden felicitated

Ambassador designated to the Kingdom of Sweden, Ranjith Jayasooriya was felicitated by the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya, Colombo Chapter at a felicitation ceremony held at the Auditorium of the Institute of Engineers, Colombo 07 with D. P. Mendis PC in the chair.

Jayasooriya who hails from Dodangoda had his early education at Ananda College, Colombo 10 and entered the Peradeniya University where he successfully read for an honours degree in Economics.

He entered the Foreign Service in 1981 and has served in different capacities in Singapore, Nepal and France. He holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from the New South Wales University, Australia. Presently he holds the post of Director General of the Consular Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry.
