Trade delegation bears fruit
President FCCISL, Nawaz Rajabdeen, led a 30-member trade delegation
with the President to Iran recently and around 200 businessmen
participated in the meeting.

“Three large buying houses were interested in placing large orders
for apparel from Sri Lanka to be manufactured under their own brands.
For the Iranian market. Interest was also shown to set up a tea
packaging in the free trade zone in Iran,” Rajabdeen said.
Sri Lanka is to import tea in bulk and do the packaging under their
brands for re-export to the Middle East market, under this scheme.

delegation to Sri Lanka early next year as follow up meeting.
