Unbeatable records

Muttiah Muralitharan is now the record holder for the most number of Test wickets. The benchmark he will eventually set when he retires will be comparable to Don Bradman's Test average of 99.94 and Jim Laker's 19 wickets in one Test.

All three will stand for a very long time and may even not be broken at all. Kumar Sangakkara's feats of scoring 150 or more runs in an innings in four consecutive Tests coupled with an aggregate of 220 plus runs in each of these matches is an astounding achievement which will also be hard to beat.

It must be noted in perspective, that among these and other world records those of Bradman and Muralitharan stand out alone.

They constitute a lifetime of accomplishment and dominance that include several other World records.
