Officials visit Kebethigollewa on President's directive

Compensation payments to be expedited:

A three member team of officials led by Jathika Saviya Director Lalath Abeygunawardena visited Kebethigollewa on an inspection tour of the area affected by Wednesday's LTTE bus bomb attack on the direction of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The other members of the team included Presidential Co-ordinating Secretaries Sampath Tennakoon and Faizal Mannsoor.

Abeygunawardena said the team would inspect security arrangements in the area and submit a report to the President. They would also make arrangements to expedite compensation payments to the bereaved families and provide medical and other facilities to the injured.

He said the team also held discussions with North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Highways Deputy Minister W.B. Ekanayake and Security Commanders in the area.
