BOI signs agreement with Rocell Ceramics

AGREEMENT: Nimal Perera (Managing Director) and Tharaka
Thoradeniya (Director, Marketing and Business Development)
signed the agreement on behalf of Rocell Ceramics Limited.

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed an agreement with Rocell
Ceramics on recently to setup a plant to manufacture porcelain tiles for
the local and export market. Channa Palansuriya and Eshan de Silva
(Board Members of BOI) signed the agreement on behalf of the BOI.
The manufacturing plant is an investment of US $ 13 million.
The venture located at Kiriwaththuduwa, Homagama is expected to
provide employment opportunities for a workforce of 220.
The manufacturing facility will be equipped with the latest
technology imported from Italy. Construction of the manufacturing plant
is expected to start shortly.
The company expects to start commercial production by 2010.
