Lanka tells UNESCO:

Retract statement on VoT

The Government has registered its strong protest at the recent statement made by the Director General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura, in which he has "condemned" the air strike on the Voice of Tigers radio station, which has been described as a "civilian" radio station.

Four Tigers injured in Yala clash

Troops operating in the North of Yala yesterday confronted a group of Tiger terrorists injuring four of them, Military sources said yesterday. The incident took place around 5.10 p.m. as Army Commandos confronted a group of Tiger terrorists in Debaraduwa, 30 Km North of Yala in the block II area, close to Rambukkan Oya.
